Earlier this year, Foxtrot X-Ray contributed a number of visual effects shots to the horror indie The Black String starring Frankie Muniz of “Malcolm in the Middle” fame. The film has been nominated for 6 awards at genre film festival Filmquest 2019 in Provo, Utah - including Best Visual Effects. Check out some of Foxtrot X-Ray’s work in the trailer below, including several of our “black portal” shots, and look for the film when it is released by Lionsgate on September 24th!
The team at CineForge Media has published an update on the Kickstarter page for their feature film Max Relaod and the Nether Blasters, including some never-before-seen images that Foxtrot X-Ray contributed to the film!
Max Reload and The Nether Blasters is in the final processes of post-production!
Which is saying a lot for an epic independent film like this with such a small and gifted team working behind the scenes to make it all possible. Over the last few months the post-production team has "locked" (completed) over 550 VFX shots, a blockbuster-caliber score and sound design process, and multiple animation sequences throughout the film.
Foxtrot x-Ray provided visual effects for string trio Simply Three’s latest music video “Feel That Fire.”
The task was to create a mystical fire trail that appeared in the desert and guided the character to his destination. Superluminal Stardust was used to drive a particle simulation using Action VFX fire assets to match the look of the practical fire seen in the last few shots. We’ve also produced a tutorial on the process:

Here's a quick breakdown reel we put together showcasing some of the 270 VFX shots we created for ICE the Movie.
Foxtrot X-Ray is proud to have provided roughly 270 visual effects shots to this charming indie movie about Olympic hopeful figure skaters. While at first glance ICE may not seem like a VFX-heavy film requiring almost 300 shots, but in addition to the standard screen replacements and logo paint-outs common to pretty much every sort of production now, Foxtrot X-Ray also contributed significantly to the film's climactic skating competition scenes with extensive crowd replication. In fact you'll see some of this crowd replication work in the final shot of the trailer above.
