Laura Skowronski Nattam
VFX Producer | 3D Animator
Laura Skowronski Nattam of Austin, TX, is an animator-turned-producer. She grew up in the midwest loving art, music, computers, movies, videogames, and acting, which all married up well into a career path in computer animation. At Purdue University, she completed her BS in Computer Graphics Technology (Animation Specialization) in 2005, and went on to earn a Diploma in Advanced Character Animation Studies at AnimationMentor.com in 2008. Over time, her love of clear communication and meticulous coordination drove a natural shift into producing, so she splits her time between primarily these creative roles.

Early animation career highlights include Abby’s Flying Fairy School (part of Sesame Street’s 40th anniversary season, 2009), Kings of Atlantis (Youtube Premium series, 2017), and short films such as Danny and the Wild Bunch (2014), One Per Person (2019), and Run Totti Run (2023). Through the years Laura found herself graduating into team leadership with a keen perception of talent, schedule, budget, and problem-solving, which at first led to unofficial niche positions in animation production, and eventually broadened to include visual effects. So in addition to animating, she became highly involved in project bidding, leading pre-production tasks such as shot breakdown and layouts, strategizing 3d team schedules and pipelines, video editing, providing creative direction, relaying communication with clients, and delivering assets. Working at small studios has afforded her the opportunity to wear many hats and acquire new skills.

Her series VFX production work includes Stereoscope (2020), Kinderfanger (2020), MiraMira (2021), and Cruel Summer (2021). Her commercial video CG/VFX production portfolio includes Marvin Windows, Power Service, Dell, Switch Energy Alliance Museum, Greenlights Grant Initiative, Bakugan, Roto Rooter, AES, and Phoenix Film Festival. She has produced and animated game trailers for Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem; Star Trek: Fleet Command; The Walking Dead: Road to Survival; MARVEL Strike Force; WWE: Champions; and Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story. Most recently, she has produced vfx and generated CG animation for Oculus VR experiences such as Be Mine (mono, 2023), The Faceless Lady (stereo, 2024), and an undisclosed title in production at Twisted Pixel Games.

Dozens of commercial, serial, AR/VR/XR/game and feature film projects later, Laura continues to find herself drawn to new ways to support efforts of meaningful creative expression. She just dipped a toe into virtual production as an on-set vfx supervisor at the Stray Vista volume wall stage for a highly cinematic zombie video game ad, and she is a cheerleader and champion for fellow filmmakers to be successful in their endeavors – especially over some gourmet food and craft cocktails under the Texas oaks and starry nights!
