Lisa Sepp-Wilson

VFX Producer | On-Set VFX Supervisor | VFX Unit Director

Lisa Sepp-Wilson is a five-time Emmy nominee and multiple-award winning VFX Producer, On-Set Supervisor and VFX Unit Director, having enjoyed a nearly 30-year career in film and television in Canada, the US, Europe and India.

When Lisa was growing up, her dad was the IT Director for Xerox Canada, and for a stretch he worked with Steve Jobs in Palo Alto. Her dad was always beta-testing various iterations of early desktop computers, one day bringing home the Apple “Lisa,” and a year later the first Mac (which she still has tucked away in its case, complete with tractor-feed printer and external drive!). She took the Mac with her everywhere and eventually to university, making extra money writing and typing other student’s assignments for extra cash. Her dad also took her to see the first Star Wars film (aka Episode IV), and explained a little about how the magic was created. From then on, Lisa was hooked.

After leaving university to travel Europe for a few years, Lisa parlayed her fascination of movie magic and prowess with computers into a career in visual effects. After working as a Production Secretary then Coordinator, First Aid, Craft Service, Locations, Construction and Paint PA, and Camera Assistant, her first “real” VFX gig was as Animation Tracker on the first full CG TV series ReBoot, and then Writer’s Assistant and Production Coordinator on the first Transformers series to feature CG animation, Beast Wars.

Since then, she has served in roles as Global Managing Director at Mr. X / MPC / Technicolor, Head of Production at Legend 3D in Toronto / LA, and Frame by Frame in Rome, as well as CFO and Producer at Anthem Visual Effects, a studio of 90+ artists she co-founded in Vancouver. Some select credits over the years include: The Equalizer 3, A Haunting in Venice, The Hardy Boys, Beacon 23, Slumberland, The North Water, Run, Shazam, VICE, A Dog’s Purpose 2, Breakthrough, American Gods, Preacher, Sanctuary, Masters of Horror, Butterfly Effect 2, Tin Man, Neverland, Alice, Journey to the Center of Earth and many, many more.

In her spare time, Lisa can be found extreme skiing on the slopes in the Alps or Whistler, paddleboarding in Muskoka or kayaking off Vancouver Island, jumping horses at Spruce Meadows, writing and developing feature and television scripts, entertaining friends and extended family and hanging out with her two very tall teenage boys at home.
