Foxtrot X-Ray Provides VFX Help to Sundance Premiere DIDN’T DIE

Kiran Deol as “Vinita” in Didn’t Die

In order to make the deadline for their world premiere at Sundance 2025, filmmakers Meera Menon and Paul Gleason enlisted Foxtrot X-Ray’s help to complete a handful of VFX shots for their zombie apocalypse drama Didn’t Die. Gleason served as the film’s co-writer, cinematographer, and VFX supervisor and completed the vast majority of the film’s visual effects himself, but as the deadline loomed he realized some extra hands were needed, hence Foxtrot X-Ray’s involvement.

Directed by Menon, Didn’t Die is not your traditional zombie narrative. Having directed episodes of The Walking Dead (as well as Westworld, Ms. Marvel, For All Mankind and many more), Menon wanted to make a film that used the undead apocalypse as a means to explore family, grief, and tragedy. “Menon manages to design her own zombie apocalypse by making the monsters secondary and focusing closely on a family of misfits trying to navigate the complexities of relationships, both familial and romantic, all while the world has become a hollowed and desolate version of what it once was.” (Collider)

We’re proud to have contributed to the film, and hope to be able to share more news of festival screenings and distribution soon! Meanwhile, here are befores and afters of a couple of our favorite shots:
