Foxtrot X-Ray contributed VFX shots to director Brian Hanson’s feature debut The Black String starring Frankie Muniz. Work included sign replacements, set enhancements, cleanup, digital makeup enhancement on the demonic creature, and of course the gooey black “portal” seen above. Although the majority of The Black String was invisible VFX, we did get to have a bit of fun with the black goo. On-set there was a reference shape and size that we used to match perspective, size, and color, and then we took it from there and ran with it to create the final look!
