Valentin Gallardo, a Mexican matador is torn between the love of his life and his love for bullfighting after having a near-death injury in his last fight. Valentin has to come to terms with what is truly important to him, family or fame. (IMDb)

For Pedro Pérez Nuñez’s short film “Toro de Oro,” Foxtrot X-Ray created a digital bullfighting arena based on those seen in Mexico to replace the Arizona rodeo ring used as the location for the climactic scene. Since the project was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic and extras were kept to a minimum, the digital arena was then populated with stock footage crowds, and confetti and flower petals were added through a particle simulation.
