Cruel Summer is an unconventional thriller that takes place over three summers--1993, 1994, and 1995--in a small Texas town as a beautiful, popular teen, Kate, is abducted and a seemingly-unrelated girl, Jeanette, goes from being a sweet loner to the most popular girl in town--and by 1995, the most-despised person in America. Foxtrot X-Ray collaborated with our friends at Austin, TX’s Moontower VFX, contributing 67 shots for 5 episodes of Freeform’s hit series Cruel Summer. Some unique shots involved using time blending effects as the show shifts from one time frame to another in what appear to be seamless shots. VFX was also used for day-for-night and for fireworks-motivated relighting in some scenes. Additional effects included cleanup, paint, logo removal, screen comps, and greenscreen / bluescreen.

Other projects featuring similar effects by Foxtrot X-Ray include A Little White Lie, Proof Sheet, and And on the Eighth Day.
